A Separation - 2011
A Separation is a dialogue driven relationship film concerned with gender issues and class difference and focused essentially round family and close friends.
A couple is planning to leave Iran, largely for the sake of their daughter, when the husband becomes worried about leaving his father, who has Alzheimer’s Disease, his wife responds by deciding to divorce him. But they are not granted the divorce and a complete re-organisation of their domestic arrangement ensues. After the wife moves out, her husband hires a woman to care for his father; that the carer is pregnant and working without her husband’s permission leads to complications.
